We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness."

"Nothing can beat the smell of dew and flowers and
the odor that comes out of the earth when the sun goes down."
Ethel Waters
Another shot after a rain. This is my favourite one so far. :)

"Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not;
and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these."

were a fountain of inspiration to them."

"The splendor of the rose and the whitness of the lily
do not rob the little violet of it's scent nor the daisy of its simple charm.
If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose,
spring would lose its lovliness."
Therese of Lisieux
It's a small rose, but very beautiful. :)

"And all shall know the wonder
I will sing the song of purple summer"
Spring Awakening
From "The Song of Purple Summer"
Technically, "purpure" is a word strictly used for a purple-coloured tincture for coat-of-arms. But I thought... so what? ;D
Oh, and I think Spring Awakening is a musical.

"Happiness held is the seed; Happiness shared is the flower."
John Harrigan
I don't know what kind of flower this is.
I don't think it is actually a "shooting star" but it looks like one,
so that's what I titled it. *shrug*

Also called the Common Thistle or Bull Thistle, Cirsium vulgare is pretty to look at, but I wouldn't try to pick it...!

"We can never have enough of nature.
We must be refreshed by the sight of inexhaustible vigor,
vast and titanic features, the sea-coast with its wrecks,
the wilderness with its living and its decaying trees,
the thunder-cloud, and the rain."
Henry David Thoreau
The coast here is quite rocky, though I've been told it never used to be.

PS: I am setting up several posts in advance, because I'm moving.
However, I may not be back in time to continue right away,
so be prepared for a potential hiatus. :)

"In the fast paced world in which we live, the exercise of walking provides a way to actually slow down, to talk with a friend or family member, or to just be alone without noise. For many, it just seems to be the right activity at the right moment in time."
John Jury

"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy,
if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you,
if the simple things in nature have a message you understand,
Rejoice, for your soul is alive."
Eleanora Duse

Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o'erbrimmed their clammy cells."

The flower of sweetest smell is shy and lowly."

Because that's what these little flowers look like—tiny pom pons. :)
They have a resemblence to meadow rue, but they are too low to the ground, so I really don't know what they are.

William Shakespeare

This resembles the cherokee rose, but it's too small and too far north, so I don't think that's what it is. >_>

"Kind hearts are the gardens,
Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the flowers,
Kind deeds are the fruits.
Take care of your garden
And keep out the weeds,
Fill it with sunshine,
Kind words and kind deeds."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Once again, I do not know what species this is, but unlike most of my previous subjects, this flower is growing on a shrub.
